Membership Options During COVID-19

Thank you for being a part of our YMCA family. We deeply appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate the challenging circumstances related to the Coronavirus. We are all operating in unknown territory right now, and we are working as quickly as we can to keep you updated and address your questions.

At the YMCA of Northern Rock County, everything we do is guided by our commitment to support our community, and this is even more critical now. When you belong to the Y, you are not only a member of a health and wellness facility, you are a member of an organization dedicated to strengthening our community. In difficult times, the Y pivots in response to community needs, and finds ways to use our resources to offer solutions – and you can help.

Through these trying times, the YMCA is in the position to make a difference where it matters most. Because of this, we are aligning with our community partners to serve parents who must work to protect our community including essential health care workers and first responders. These families need safe and reliable places for their children and we want to support them with child care services while they are working. To learn more about this effort, click here

Having to temporarily close our physical sites has put us in a challenging position and we are concerned about our ability, as a Y, to continue to serve and come out on the other side of this in a position to help the communities we cherish. What we know for sure is when this pandemic finally starts to slow, the services we provide at the Y will be needed like never before.

STAY WITH US – Your YMCA Membership Choice

Your membership helps support our efforts to meet the critical needs in our community during this pandemic and ensure we can re-open in a position of strength. So, we’re here to offer several options and we hope one will work for you. You can click on whichever one works best for you and your family.

If you have already contacted the Y about a change to your membership, there is no need to do anything additional.

OPTION 1: Support the Y and Your Community

This option will keep your membership going.

This allows us to:

  • cover the emergency services we are providing and continue building Y resources to keep our communities connected and healthy at home.

  • ensure the Y has sufficient funding to re-open our facilities to meet the needs of everyone we serve

If you choose this option you do not have to do anything but accept our deep gratitude. Your membership will just continue on.

OPTION 2: Get a Gift

Support the Y and Get a Credit

This option will keep your membership going. At the end of the closure we will issue a credit amount for the entire duration we were closed.

This allows us to:

  • cover the emergency services we are providing and continue building Y resources to keep our communities connected and healthy at home.

OPTION 3: Hold your Membership

Rejoin the Y when we re-open.

This option will stop your membership until you choose to rejoin us.

We understand that these tough decisions are sometimes unavoidable. We know you are dealing with all the same things we are and we are thankful to have you with us, even if just in spirit.

With this option you can decide to either hold your membership or cancel your membership. Please be sure to submit this request by the April 29th, or the 20th of the month prior to your draft date.

OPTION 4: Go Above and Beyond

Give an additional donation to the Y's Annual Campaign

This option will keep your membership going and will go above and beyond to:

  • help fund the Y’s efforts to provide child care to essential health care workers and first responders
  • ensure we are here to support our community when we re-open
  • fund the Annual Campaign, keeping programs and membership available to everyone

Any amount is valued and greatly appreciated.
