Aquatic Center Schedule 2017 - SUMMER

WADING AREA
The Wading Area offers a fun and safe environment to develop children's water safety knowledge, improve their coordination and confidence as well as teach essential swimming skills. The Wading Area offers zero-depth entry and various water features including 3 geysers, two water drop umbrellas and a sprinkler. This area offers parent/child water exploration classes and programs for children as young as 6 months. General recreation during open and family swim times are also offered in this area.

 

EXERCISE AREA
The Exercise Area has been designed to provide space for swimming lessons, water sports and water fitness classes including: wall exercise, stretching, Aqua Zumba and various water aerobic classes. According to the U.S. Water Fitness Association, water exercise offers many physical, social and mental benefits including: improved strength and flexibility, better muscular endurance and balance, a stronger heart, enhanced physique, improved circulation, weight control, relief from stress and tension and increased daily energy.


CURRENT CHANNEL

The Current Channel offers fitness programs as well as recreational activities. The speed of the current is adjustable and can provide zero to high levels of resistance depending on the intensity desired. Water walking/jogging, stretching, toning, therapeutic exercises, high-resistance fitness training and various ‘lazy river’ opportunities during open/family swim times are accommodated in the Current Channel. Individuals of every age and ability will enjoy activities offered in this area.

 

LAP POOL
The Lap Pool is an independent, designated program area with a private entrance allowing for quiet, uninterrupted lap swimming. The Lap Pool provides 3 lanes and is equipped with lane lines and markers, back-stroke flags and pace clocks. Kick boards and pull buoys are also available. The temperature is between 79-82 degrees. The recent renovations and upgrades provide swimmers an esthetically pleasing environment to enjoy the physical as well as mental benefits of lap swimming. Whether swimming for recreation or a high-intensity workout, the Lap Pool provides an environment to fit everyone's needs.
